Lent Talks 2022

Road Farm

Lent gives us an opportunity to reflect, to consider different perspectives and to discover new aspects of faith in God.  Hear from and discuss these important issues with two ministers from different backgrounds, widely travelled financier and a Civil Engineer. Each talk starts at 5pm at St Peter and St Paul.  All are welcome to come, listen and join in. Donations in aid of Road Farm Countryways are welcome.   Each talk will be followed by a Compline service at 6pm if you wish to join us afterwards.

All the talks will be Streamed Live On-Line. Just click here this link about 5 minutes before the talk starts.

Down through the years artists have painted the face of Christ. Some will resonate
with us; others will not. In this Lent Talk Alan looked at three different faces of
Christ  as we begin the journey towards Easter.

Rev’d Canon Alan Mustoe retired two years ago after 41 years in the Diocese of
Rochester; he and his wife Kathleen moved to Great Missenden eleven months ago.  He enjoys painting, walking and tries to follow Spurs.

Alan's talk can be seen here.

Alan has added copies of the pictures which inspired his work to the presentation he used in the talk. You can see this extended presentation here.

20210427 11090727th March – Global Money Laundering - the Price of Globalisation
with Guy Priestley.

The fight against ‘dirty money’ is generally presented as a simple Manichean matter.
In reality, the lines are blurred, political hypocrisy entrenched and the front line
faced with constant moral quandaries inherent in the entire system of global trade
 and capital movement.

Guy has spent 40 years in Finance, travelling widely in the Middle East and Asia.  For the last 10 years before retiring in 2018 he specialised in Anti-Money Laundering.

Guy's talk can be seen here.
