Music at St Peter and St Paul
We are a traditional robed choir of men and women.
Our repertoire is broad and spans music from the Renaissance through to the present day. We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music, and aim to achieve the best possible standards to aid worship within our church.
We are a friendly choir and are always happy to accept new members. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Wendy
via the Office our Organist and Choral Director at the Parish Office.
The Choir usually rehearses at 7.30pm on Thursdays, and before the Sunday services; at 9:15am and 5:30pm (5pm if Choral Evensong) during term times.
Our organ was built by James J. Binns of Leeds and installed in 1916. It has two manuals, a pedal board, 21 speaking stops and a range of couplers and combination pistons. Restoration work to the organ was carried out in 2006 with the help of the Friends of Great Missenden Parish Church. In 2016, the original pneumatic action (which was not part of the 2006 restoration work) was converted to an electro-pneumatic system.
If you would like to find out more, please contact Wendy, our Organist in the Parish Office.
